What an arena mod changes
Every NBA 2K27 arena and court lives in its own package file. That one file holds the floor, the baskets, the stands, the lights, and every object in the building. An arena mod is a new version of that file, so you can change the court design, swap the baskets, add or hide objects, or give the arena a different look on screen.
How the game loads mods
NBA 2K27 on PC checks its mods folder before its own files. A mod saved there under the right arena name plays in place of that arena. Take the file out and the original comes back, so your game install is never changed.
Courts from older games
Parks and arenas from NBA 2K26 and 2K25 are built differently from 2K27’s. Convert an arena rebuilds them for 2K27, so the courts you liked in older games can come forward, outdoor parks included.
Where to play them
Modded arenas and courts are for offline play like Play Now and MyNBA. Keep a backup of the mods you make, and clear the mods folder before you go online.
